Our services include Psych Express Care (2-3 hour intervention), Psych Crisis Care, and Psych Progressions (Outpatient Therapist Services). We enhance the quality of patient care while reducing pressure on the mental health system, minimizing costly emergency room visits, in-patient treatment, and readmissions for crisis care.
In our first year, with over 450 team members, we have opened three facilities in the Greater Phoenix area and served over 10,000 individuals in need of care. We plan to expand rapidly into additional states in the coming year.
Job SummaryThe Behavioral Health Technician (Patient Care Coordinator) plays a vital role in ensuring the comfort and engagement of patients during their stay for stabilization.
This role involves assisting patients and the clinical team in maintaining a calm and therapeutic environment. The Patient Care Coordinator assists the nursing team in obtaining vital signs and conducting point-of-care testing. They intervene in the administration of Seclusion and Restraint as necessary to ensure the individual's safety and the safety of others.
Essential Job Functions- Maintain the safety and comfort of patients during their stay in the center.
- Conduct security screening and inventory property of individuals upon admission to the facility.
- Intervene with escalated individuals using therapeutic techniques for de-escalation and perform restraints/seclusions when needed to ensure the individual's safety and the safety of others.
- Lift, move, and transport individuals, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
- Conduct and document individual's vitals and report all questionable results to the RN/Physician attending the individual.
- Conduct and document all BAL, urine drug screens, and urine pregnancy tests.
- Document all services and significant individual interactions in the electronic health record. Monitor and document patients' Q30.
- Responsible for maintaining and ensuring the cleanliness of the facility and designated assigned unit.
- Perform light cleaning of interior center, collect soiled linen, and launder individuals' clothing when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, or ability to obtain upon hire.
- 1-3 years' experience within a behavioral health setting working in a similar role.
- Compassionate attitude towards patients.
- Exceptional listening and communication skills.
- Food Handlers Card desired or willingness to obtain.
