We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Support Specialist to join our team at J.R. Simplot Company. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all industrial mechanical equipment at our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain necessary communication with team members and other support groups to ensure operational goals are met.
- Work within safety rules and regulations to avoid injury to self and others.
- Ensure proper food safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures of all processing equipment and tools.
- Perform a variety of skilled duties, including painting, carpentry, cement masonry, plumbing, drywall, and other recognized crafts to maintain and repair Simplot-owned and operated buildings and facilities.
- Lubricate equipment, including pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and product transport systems, following company or manufacturer specifications.
- Perform wire feed, stick, heliarc, and acetylene welding on stainless steel, black iron, aluminum, and other types of metals for repair and fabrication as required.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment throughout the Water Recovery Plant, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, hydraulic systems, couplers, and alignment systems.
- Maintain inventory levels of knives and assist with setup of mechanical and hydro cutting systems for production runs.
- Responsible for the maintenance of high-speed cutter heads, the dicing cutter system, and any other cutting equipment.
- Technical/vocational certification or equivalent.
- 3+ years of related experience and/or training.
- Journeyman License.
- Basic computer skills, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to conduct self in a professional manner and ensure personal appearance meets job function standards.
- Ability to use electrical and electronic test equipment for maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and understand documentation, including technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, letter diagrams, P & ID drawings, equipment manuals, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and/or as a team member.
- Ability to communicate verbally with team members.
- Ability to lift 50lbs, climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, and maneuver in close quarters.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
