Position Overview
The Medical Director of Electrophysiology will collaborate closely with the Chief of Cardiology to steer the strategic vision of the Electrophysiology Program. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in managing various cardiac arrhythmias and cardiac implantable electronic devices, alongside a passion for mentoring and fostering the growth of junior faculty and medical learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage the electrophysiology program, ensuring the delivery of diagnostic testing and therapeutic interventions for patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
- Provide expert consultations and work alongside multidisciplinary teams to create tailored treatment plans for each patient.
- Mentor medical staff, fellows, and residents, promoting their professional development in the field of electrophysiology.
- Engage in research and academic initiatives to advance the discipline of electrophysiology.
- Encourage a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Heart Institute.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold an MD or equivalent from an accredited medical institution, complemented by extensive fellowship training in pediatric cardiology and specialized training in pediatric electrophysiology. Board certification in pediatric cardiology and certification as a Certified Electrophysiology Specialist-Pediatric is required. A strong interest in innovative technologies and a commitment to patient-centered care are essential attributes for this role.
