Cybersecurity Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to lead our vulnerability management efforts. This role involves conducting regular vulnerability assessments, acting as the technical authority, and leading the efforts in vulnerability scanning and remediation for desktops, servers, and various devices across multiple sites, networks, and standalone systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments to detect potential security threats.
- Act as the main technical expert for vulnerability scanning and remediation.
- Execute continuous vulnerability patching based on cyber tool scan scores and approved schedules.
- Analyze vulnerability scan results using Tenable Security Center and provide remediation advice.
- Coordinate with system owners and users about upcoming patches and their impacts, such as reboots, new features, or network-wide updates.
- Develop and maintain processes and procedures for vulnerability management.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement security measures and patches.
- Stay updated on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities, recommending proactive measures.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Prepare and present reports on vulnerability management activities and findings to senior management.
- Continuously improve and enhance vulnerability management processes and tools.
- Maintain and report metrics for vulnerability management functions.
- Attend meetings and serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for vulnerability management.
- Participate in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in vulnerability management and cybersecurity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to various tasks and responsibilities.
