Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team as a Design Leader. The ideal candidate will possess 5 to 7+ years of experience in structural engineering and design, with a strong understanding of commercial and residential building structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Team Leadership: Direct the design team with suitable field concepts, practices, and procedures to apply in design.
  • Structural Analysis: Prepare structural analysis finite element models and calculation reports.
  • Model Review: Review structural analysis finite element models developed by junior engineers.
  • Model Coordination: Review Structural 3D models of building systems and coordinate models with other disciplines.
  • Performance Evaluation: Evaluate building and structural system performances (vibrations, drifts, accelerations, deflections, and load carrying capacities).
  • Document Preparation: Prepare construction documents and ensure design is being coordinated with other disciplines.
  • Design Review: Review engineering documents and specifications.
  • Code Compliance: Review code compliance of design.
  • Structural Assessment: Assess existing structures & determine cause of structural failures, deficiencies, accidents, etc.
  • Investigation Reports: Provides reports detailing investigations and assessment of damages to the structure.
  • Construction Administration: Attend project meetings, review structural related Submittals, respond to structural related RFI; review structural related change orders, etc.
  • Site Visits: Perform site visits and inspections.
  • Project Management: Responsible for maintaining project schedules and achieving all project deadlines and milestones within the project budget.
Requirements
  • Education: Masters in Structural Engineering.
  • Licensure: Florida P.E. License.
  • Software Proficiency: Extensive design experience utilizing structural design software such as Risa Floor, Risa-3D & Risa Foundation, ETABS, Adapt Builder, Adapt PT/ RC and Wood Works Design Suite.
  • Revit Proficiency: Proficient using Revit Design Suite 2024 and later.
  • Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of all commonly used construction materials (concrete, steel, aluminum, wood, light gauge framing, and reinforced masonry).
