Job Overview

Position Summary: The Assembler B is responsible for the efficient assembly of component parts into finished products, ensuring adherence to specified production guidelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and produce component parts into complete units according to established bills of materials and production documentation.
  • Interpret blueprints and utilize various tools, including drills, taps, and torque wrenches, to perform assembly tasks.
  • Conduct inspections of parts using visual checks, gauges, tape measures, and other inspection tools to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Execute a range of assembly and production tasks with minimal oversight, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Ensure all company-provided tools are returned to their designated storage locations at the end of each shift.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by assisting in testing and related activities as needed.
  • Perform rope winding and other specialized assembly tasks as required.
  • Maintain acceptable performance levels in assembly, production, quality, safety, and workplace cleanliness.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties safely and effectively, utilizing sound judgment. The following qualifications are necessary:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: A minimum of 6 months in a manufacturing setting.

Language Proficiency: Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Capable of writing basic correspondence and effectively presenting information in small group settings.

Mathematical Skills: Competence in performing basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers.

Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form, and to address problems involving root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this position include standing for extended periods, using hands to manipulate tools and materials, and occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision and depth perception.

Work Environment: Employees will work in proximity to moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to vibrations, fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise levels. The temperature in the work area may vary significantly.
