This role is positioned under the Chief Financial Officer and reports directly to the Controller. There is significant potential for career advancement within the organization as this is a crucial new position in our expanding company. Under the guidance of the Controller, the Revenue Cycle Accountant will oversee and manage the accounting functions related to the revenue cycle, aiding management and senior leadership in making critical financial decisions and negotiating payor contracts.
The individual in this position will influence financial strategies by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures related to revenue and collections. This role offers the chance to develop expertise in the essential area of healthcare revenue and billing.
Key ResponsibilitiesCore duties include:
- Collaborating closely with the billing team, Controller, CFO, and third-party payors, balancing profit opportunities with exceptional patient care.
- Managing the complete revenue cycle from billing through payment and reconciliation, including general ledger entries, and drafting internal communications regarding the revenue cycle and denial tracking processes. You will be responsible for achieving daily productivity goals, such as:
- Ensuring accurate billing
- Managing rejections
- Tracking and resolving denials
- Conducting collection activities
- Preparing AR Aging reports
- Establishing and reporting on key billing performance indicators
Essential skills include:
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to ask pertinent follow-up questions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Capability to self-review deliverables
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Comfort in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with experience in acquisitions
- Preference for leading process-flow improvements and efficiency initiatives
- Highly self-motivated and curious
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP system (Business Central) is a plus
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA certification is advantageous
