Ambitious Family Medicine Physician Faculty Opportunity in Western North Carolina

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Medicine Physician Faculty to join our esteemed team at MAHEC, Mountain Area Health Education Center. As a key member of our faculty practice, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care services, resident and student teaching, mentoring, and effective supervision.
About the RoleThis position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced Family Medicine physician to make a meaningful impact in the field while contributing to the growth and development of our medical students and residents. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct clinical care to patients in our ambulatory settings, as well as participating in research activities and educational programs within the department.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Care: Provide direct clinical care to Family Medicine patients for 6-7 days per week, including ambulatory settings and occasional inpatient responsibilities at Mission Hospital.
- Teaching and Mentoring: Serve as a faculty advisor and mentor for residents, promote education programs, and supervise learners in both ambulatory and inpatient environments.
- Research and Scholarship: Demonstrate commitment to community-based health sciences and research, pursuing scholarly activity that aligns with departmental goals.
- A minimum qualification is completion of a Family Medicine Residency Program; preferred qualifications include teaching experience.
- Licensure to practice medicine in North Carolina, certification by the American Board of Family Physicians, and appointment in good standing to the medical staff of Mission Health System are required.
The estimated salary for this position is $220,000 - $280,000 per year, reflecting the market value and location. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including opportunities for professional growth and development.
