Position Overview:
As a Temporary Pharmacist, you will be responsible for the meticulous dispensing of medications to patients based on valid prescriptions, ensuring the utmost accuracy and providing essential patient education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications while maintaining accurate records, managing inventory, and processing third-party adjudications.
- Provide counseling to patients and healthcare providers regarding medication usage, potential interactions, and side effects, while monitoring patient health to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
Patient-Centered Services:
- Engage in patient-centered initiatives, including immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM), to enhance community health.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and providing guidance and training to interns and technicians.
Professional Development:
- Participate in business development activities within the store and the community to promote pharmacy services.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement programs to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid and active Pharmacist license in good standing within the state of practice.
- Immunization Certification or commitment to obtain certification is required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with effective decision-making and leadership abilities.
Skills:
- Proficient in pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing technologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License and be at least 21 years of age.
Education:
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy is required.
