Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented PRN Registration Clerk to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a PRN Registration Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient registration and scheduling services, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient information, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and efficient patient registration and scheduling services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Abstract data from Practice Fusion and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Collect and post payments accurately, balancing accounts at the end of each shift.
  • Release medical records and Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with protocols and HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and clinic staff to ensure proper paperwork is available for office visits.
  • Monitor hospital resources and assist with ensuring supplies are available.
  • Ensure excellence of service in all clinics where assigned to work.
  • Utilize software programs, including Meditech, MARS, Laserfiche, and Email, to complete registration and process requests for medical records.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Office Certification preferred.
  • Insurance experience a plus.
Skills and Abilities
  • 40 words per minute typing verified by testing.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Ability to multitask.
