Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class A CDL driver to join our team at Living Spaces. As a Class A CDL driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting containers to and from our distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a Class 8 tractor with a maximum gross vehicle weight of up to 80,000 lbs.
  • Transport containers to local distribution centers.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, corporate, and departmental safety standards.
  • Inspect the truck for defects before, during, and after trips, and submit a DVIR log indicating the truck's condition.
  • Properly track driver log information in accordance with DOT compliance.
  • Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicle.
  • Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Communicate with dispatch as needed.
  • Confirm the contents of each shipment load match the manifest document.
  • Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
  • Check weather conditions and road reports before departure.
  • Ensure your vehicle is kept clean.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle at the end of the shift and report any problems or damage to management.
  • Notify management of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
  • Follow delivery schedules and rest at appropriate times.
  • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.
  • Track and report working hours.
  • Be skilled at driving large vehicles.
  • Able to properly maneuver and park a tractor-trailer.
  • Able to maintain a clean driving record with no moving violations.
  • Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules.
  • Maintain flexibility to work any shift, including weekends on a regular basis.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 2+ years of verifiable experience with operating and driving a tractor-trailer.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Driver Truck Log software.
  • Must meet all Federal Department of Transportation physical requirements of a Class A CDL driver.
