Position Overview:


We are in search of an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to provide comprehensive care to patients in the stepdown/progressive care unit as part of the Critical Care Center within Memorial Hospital. This role involves addressing the medical and psychosocial needs of our patients, implementing and assessing care standards, and engaging in research essential for establishing exceptional, evidence-based care.


WE ARE:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will become part of a team of over 800 NPs and PAs at MSK, who are devoted to delivering compassionate, comprehensive cancer care to patients and their families, while supporting the mission, philosophy, standards, goals, and objectives of the institution and department.

Work Schedule:
Nights 7pm-7:30am, 13 shifts a month, weekend and vacation rotation required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to provide care for high-acuity medical and surgical patients in a stepdown/progressive care unit.
  • Ensure the delivery of exemplary nursing care and foster an environment centered on the needs of patients and their families.
  • Act as a clinical expert and resource, providing education and consultation to healthcare team members.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives, implementation of patient education, and clinical support programs.

Qualifications for PA Candidates:

  • Graduate from an accredited PA program.
  • NCCPA certification.
  • Active NYS license or eligibility for state licensure.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (ICU or Step-down) is preferred.
  • BLS certification and ACLS certification.

Qualifications for NP Candidates:

  • Current New York State (NYS) RN and NP licenses/registrations (ACNP preferred).
  • Master's degree in nursing, with prescriptive privileges (or eligibility).
  • 3+ years of relevant clinical experience (ICU or Step-down experience preferred).
  • Related National NP certification.
  • BLS certification and ACLS certification.
