**The Ideal Candidate:**

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Communications Specialist to join our team in Dahlgren, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in writing and editing diverse communication materials, conducting interviews, and supporting various media and public relations efforts.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist in creating both internal and external communication materials, such as print and online products, social media content, and digital signage.
  • Maintain a comprehensive calendar and digital archives of all events supported by photography.
  • Ensure that photographs are properly captioned and assigned Visual Information Reference Identification Numbers following Navy Style guidelines.
  • Provide imagery for the Command's annual report in April each year, contributing to the report's visual content.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

  • Efficiently manage approximately 600 technical review documents annually, utilizing a government-provided database for tracking and processing.
  • Respond to inquiries concerning review status, monitor the progression of reviews, dispatch correspondence to submitters, and organize completed reviews and archive those older than three years.
  • Provide comprehensive communication engagement support, orchestrating approximately 100 to 125 engagement events each year aimed at fostering connections and synergies.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications field, public relations, or marketing and two years of related experience OR six years related experience in the field for public relations, public affairs, or journalism.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

**Estimated Salary Range:** $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
