As a Histotechnician II at Essentia Health, you will play a critical role in preparing pathology and cytology specimens for pathologist and cytotechnologist interpretation. Your expertise will involve routine and special staining procedures, IHC and ISH, Mohs and routine frozen sections. You will also be responsible for problem-solving skills, participating in Quality Assurance, Quality Control monitoring, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
Process and prepare pathology and cytology specimens for diagnostic purposes
Perform routine and special staining procedures, including IHC and ISH
Conduct Mohs and routine frozen sections as required
Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
Requirements
Graduate of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program
OR successful completion of 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry, and one year full-time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory
OR an associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry, and one year full-time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory
ASCP Certification as Histotechnician (HT)
Work Environment
Day shift rotation, with flexibility to work other shifts as needed
80 hours per pay period
Compensation range: $25.42 - $38.13 per hour
