Seasonal Yard Driver

Macy's is a leading American department store with a rich history spanning over 160 years. As a Seasonal Yard Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution centers. Your primary responsibility will be to transport trailers within the facility, adhering to the management team's instructions.

• Load and unload merchandise and supplies from trailers.
• Pick up and deliver merchandise and supplies to various departments within the facility.
• Pass a Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) medical exam.
• Hold a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and operate company vehicles.
• Re-fuel vehicles as needed.
• Be willing to undergo training on power equipment operations.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience necessary, but a CDL license is mandatory.
• Ability to move trailers up to 53 feet in length quickly and safely in tight spaces.
• Working knowledge of yard tractor trailers and dollies to identify potential issues.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Resourceful self-starter with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic computer and handheld technology skills.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Prolonged standing and walking within the facility.
• May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders, and depth perception.
• Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary for job duties.
• Frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.

Macy's is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. As a Seasonal Yard Driver, you will be subject to random drug testing on a monthly or semi-monthly basis, depending on the facility's size and colleague population. Testing will be conducted by a third-party provider, and you will be notified on the same workday of selection for testing, unless extenuating circumstances arise.
