Job Summary

Aureus Medical Group - Cardiopulmonary is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in a travel position. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients in need of respiratory therapy services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision.
  • Evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Explain treatment purposes and procedures to patients and provide necessary education upon discharge.
  • Operate various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation to patients.
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography monitoring, and review of patient chest x-rays to determine need for further evaluation.
  • Assist with procedures related to respiratory care, including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy, and chest tube placement.
  • Perform tracheostomy care, arterial puncture, and insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
  • Record all pertinent information of treatments and patient response on respiratory care records and patient chart.
  • Communicate with attending and pulmonary physicians concerning the efficiency of therapy administered to patients.
  • Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charging, including data entry, verification, and correction of errors.
Requirements
  • CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • State License-Respiratory Therapist-Wisconsin
  • NBRC-CRT (Cert Respiratory Therapist) certification
  • ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • Ability to lift 50-100lbs
