Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

We are seeking a skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide psychiatric services in a clinical setting, working with diverse client populations of all ages. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct psychiatric assessments and provide treatment plans for clients.
- Prescribe and manage medication, order laboratory tests, and evaluate test results.
- Consult with clinical staff and other service providers regarding patient care and referral for follow-up.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment planning.
- Document services provided as required by the site, including use of an electronic health record.
- Refer clients to primary care and community service providers, as needed.
- Authorize involuntary detention and transfer to hospitals as required.
- Perform urgent and emergent assessment, including risk assessment, de-escalation, and crisis intervention.
- Authorize and/or deny services as appropriate in the performance of utilization review.
- Additional specialized services may be required, including treatment for eating disorders, neurocognitive disorders, or obsessive compulsive disorders.
- Physician and Surgeon license issued by the Medical Board of California.
- Certificate of completion of a psychiatric residency training program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or equivalent accrediting body.
- Board eligibility or certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. (ABPN) in General Psychiatry or equivalent.
- Certificate of current Controlled Substance Registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
- Eligibility to participate in federally funded health care programs, as verified with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and the Medi-Cal suspended and ineligible list.
Contractors will establish appropriate policies and procedures for psychiatrists who experience an industrial accident while working at the site.
Contractors or psychiatrists will report industrial accidents that occur at the site to the LACDMH site's administrator or his/her authorized designee.
A copy of the above policies and procedures will be retained by Contractors and made available to the site upon request for purposes of inspection and audit.
