About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Optician to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As an Optical Professional, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our members receive the best possible eye care experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify order data entry and compare prescriptions to original prescriptions provided by doctors to ensure accuracy.
- Deliver sales by providing excellent member service in person and over the phone, explaining procedures and maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Take measurements, select frames, read prescriptions, and notify customers of product readiness.
- Strive to deliver sales and metric goals by educating patients on product benefits and recommending suitable options.
- Engage with members during downtime and provide support with eyeglass adjustments and repairs.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring accurate funds collection and payments.
- Maintain club policies and procedures, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements
- Licensed to work as an optician within the state and maintain an active license.
- Knowledge of optical products and business practices preferred.
- High school diploma, college degree, or relevant experience in wholesale, retail, or optical industries.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Open shift availability required for full-time positions.
- At least 18 years of age.
Environmental Job Conditions
- Most time spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces, with occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping.
- Frequent lifting of objects up to 20 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavy and/or awkward objects.
- Located in a comfortable indoor area with frequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises.
- Requires use of optical hand tools to adjust and repair members' eyeglasses.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is starting from $32.00. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications.
