With a history spanning over 60 years, we have expanded our manufacturing footprint across the US, Europe, and Australia, and have recently opened a new 287,000 sq. ft. manufacturing site in St. Paul, Virginia, and an additional 40,000 sq ft of manufacturing at our site in Belgium in Q1 2024.

About the Role

The Data Centre Structural Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of structural systems for our cutting-edge solutions. Working closely with our project teams, the successful candidate will ensure the structural integrity, safety, and reliability of critical infrastructure components to support our clients' mission-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute structural analysis and design for data center projects, including rack support systems and structural ceilings.
  • Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural designs depending on client needs.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations and specifications in compliance with the required building codes and industry standards.
  • Perform site visits and inspections to assess existing structures and identify opportunities for improvement or retrofitting.
  • Utilize specialized software tools such as SCIA or Tekla or RISA Structures for modeling and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability initiatives, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on structural design principles, materials selection, and construction methods.
  • Support project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and project coordination efforts to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of new products and technologies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software and FEA design (e.g. RISA structures, STAAD PRO, ETABS, RISA connection).
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations and codes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
