Overview

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Conducts comprehensive sleep studies including polysomnograms, PAP titrations, ASV titrations, BPAP titrations, as well as MSLT and MWT assessments.
  • Diagnoses and resolves equipment and sensor malfunctions.
  • Prepares for specialized cases involving unique patient needs or complex sleep studies.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Ensures scoring reliability in sleep study evaluations.
  • Performs additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Must possess one of the following credentials, with RPSGT being the preferred option:
  • RPSGT, Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
  • RST, Registered Sleep Technologist, from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM)
  • Credentials from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC):
    • CPFT, Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist
    • RPFT, Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist
    • CRT, Certified Respiratory Therapist
    • RRT, Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • A current BLS certification is required, which can be obtained post-hire.
