The Production Supervisor position at Steel Warehouse is responsible for overseeing shop employees in a manufacturing environment. This role involves planning and assigning work, recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure effective employee relations, provide coaching and development, and make employment decisions.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to the manager.
- Maximize machine/employee output while minimizing downtime to promote company profit objectives.
- Promote and maintain company quality standards throughout every process.
- Maintain proper inventory levels.
- Manage department priorities.
- Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings with employees and maintain a safe working environment.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in a production environment.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and industrial skills a plus.
- Working knowledge of Laser and Plasma systems.
- Previous experience working with steel a plus.
This is a full-time position with typical hours of Monday through Thursday, 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM, 40 hours per week. Overtime after 40 hours. Occasional weekend work may be required as job duties demand. No travel is expected for this position.
