Role Overview: As an MRI Specialist, you will be responsible for operating designated MRI scanners to capture high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic evaluation. Your focus will be on delivering patient-centered care while adhering to professional standards and providing exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Imaging: Conduct MRI imaging by screening patients for any precautions or contraindications, ensuring accuracy through the use of two patient identifiers.
  • Patient Preparation: Explain MRI procedures to patients, ensuring they are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
  • Procedure Execution: Perform routine and advanced MRI scans on specified body parts, ensuring minimal supervision and repeat scans while offering continuous support to patients.
  • Equipment Management: Adjust MRI scan parameters as necessary, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and HIPAA guidelines, maintaining accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Department Support: Assist in maintaining imaging protocol manuals, monitor medical supply inventory, and contribute to the training of new staff members.

Qualifications:

  • ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved radiography program.
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the relevant state, if applicable.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience and training sufficient to independently perform MRI procedures.
  • Certification in imaging specialty is preferred.
