Pipelayer Specialist

Pipelayer Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and prepare piping systems for installation, ensuring all necessary components are present and accounted for.
• Cut, fit, and connect pipes using seal joints, cement, glue, or other mechanical fittings, adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
• Grade and level trench bases using tamping equipment and hand tools, ensuring a stable foundation for pipe installation.
• Dig trenches to the desired depth, install pipe components, and cover/backfill with earth or other materials, maintaining a safe working environment.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, pointing out deficiencies and taking corrective action as needed.

Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent, with prior experience in the field or a related area.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools, as well as measurement tools.

Working Conditions:

• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• May require working overtime, nights, and weekends as needed by the workload.
• Must observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
