We are seeking a skilled and experienced Progressive Care Unit RN to join our team as a travel nurse. As a PCU Travel Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and utilizing your critical thinking skills to make informed decisions.
Job Summary:The Progressive Care Unit RN will be responsible for providing direct patient care to patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment. This includes utilizing computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information, detecting any changes and enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations.
Responsibilities:- Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as needed.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
- Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- NIH (Neonatal Intensive Care) certification
- 1 year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit setting
