Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, and maintaining personal hygiene.
  • Help with home management tasks including cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping.
  • Provide companionship and support during daily activities, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
  • Monitor and record the client's condition; providing updates to the Homecare Manager and other healthcare professionals.
  • Medication reminder (medication administration is not allowed)
  • Support the emotional and social needs of clients, acting as a listener, supporter, and companion.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social events as required.
  • Maintain professional and confidential handling of all client information.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in home care, nursing, or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a caregiver or similar role; experience in homecare preferred.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Respectful and compassionate with a strong client service orientation.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Capable of working in a challenging and variable environment; physically able to lift/move clients as necessary.
  • Valid driver's license (with insurance) and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • CPR
  • HHA and CNA Certification
