Job Summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing is seeking a skilled Traveling Registered Nurse to join our team in a Trauma Care Specialist role. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced trauma unit environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to trauma patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in trauma team activations and contribute to the development of trauma protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with patient education and discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition to home or other care settings.
  • Document patient care and progress in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
  • 2+ years of experience in a trauma unit or critical care setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with trachs, wound care, dressings, wound vacs, tubes, drains, and other trauma-related procedures.
  • Knowledge of trauma protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
