About the Role

Amergis is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to fill the position of Paraprofessional. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in a classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with special needs in achieving their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
  • Provide support to teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities
  • Facilitate student learning through one-on-one and group instruction
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment
  • Assist with daily living skills, such as toileting, dressing, and feeding
  • Participate in behavior management techniques and strategies to support students with challenging behaviors
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • IL Paraprofessional Certification required
  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software
