Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse II plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care by assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient outcomes.
This position requires active participation in maintaining quality standards, cost-effectiveness, and fostering positive guest relations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Assessment:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' conditions, addressing their physical, psychological, and spiritual needs, and promptly notifying physicians of any significant changes.
Planning:
Developing, directing, and documenting individualized care plans, including patient and family education and discharge planning, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Implementation:
Preparing patients for treatments and procedures, monitoring their conditions, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and medication practices.
Evaluation:
Regularly reassessing patients and adjusting care plans as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
Communication:
Effectively exchanging information with team members during shift changes to ensure continuity of care.
Environment & Safety:
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment, promptly addressing any safety concerns.
Documentation:
Accurately documenting patient care activities in compliance with healthcare standards.
Professional Development:
Upholding all licensure and competency requirements, participating in mandatory training and educational opportunities to stay current in the nursing field.
Patient Care:
Responding to life-threatening changes in patient conditions and effectively applying the nursing process to meet the comprehensive needs of patients and their families.
Patient Experience:
Fostering a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and their families, ensuring a positive healthcare experience.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) - to be obtained within two years of hire.
- Minimum of one year of RN experience, demonstrating competence in nursing practice.
Preferred:
Experience in Medical/Surgical nursing.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
