The Nightingale-Bamford School is in search of an Art Education Assistant to support the Art department in fostering creativity among students across various grade levels. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and enthusiastic learner, passionate about nurturing the artistic development of children and collaborating effectively with faculty and peers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in teaching two sections of eighth-grade Digital Imaging courses.
- Conduct one section of the fifth-grade art rotation focused on Experiments in Printmaking, with provided lesson plans.
- Offer studio support for Middle School classes in ceramics, darkroom photography, and Lower School art projects.
- Engage as a chaperone during educational trips to museums and cultural venues, and aid in showcasing student artwork.
- Provide classroom assistance and occasional coverage as needed.
- Support specific projects and initiatives within the department.
- Meet regularly with the department chair for mentorship and to discuss schedules and any arising issues.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators regarding academic matters.
- Participate in all relevant division and department meetings, and engage in required professional development activities.
- Take on additional assigned responsibilities within the school environment.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in Art Education.

Compensation:
In accordance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this role is $52,000 - $60,000, influenced by various factors including experience, education, and market considerations.
