About the Role:The Adjunct Professor, Health Information Technology is a part-time, 4.5-month faculty position responsible to the Department Chair, Health Information Technology/Health Administrative Services and Dean, School of Nursing & Health Sciences. Professors provide classroom instruction and college service.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide instruction in the classroom, laboratory or clinical setting for Health information technology and other Department of Health Administrative courses that the instructor is credentialed to teach.
- Schedule, maintain, coordinate and evaluate didactic and clinical education of health information technology and health administrative students.
- Counsel and advise students regarding career goals, program requirements and job placement.
- Assist in the evaluation and revision of program policies, curriculum and examinations.
- Serve on College committees, and comply with all policies and regulations which govern and affect the College.
- Perform other duties as assigned by dean, professional and technical programs and instructor/program coordinator and department chair, health information technology and health administrative services.
- Bachelor's of Science degree.
- Must have AHIMA Credentials-RHIA or RHIT or CCS.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding and reimbursement methodologies.
- Master's of Science degree.
- Teaching experience.
- Teaching experience in a CAHEA approval health information technology program.
- Part-time retirement plan.
