Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize various welding techniques including metal core MIG, TIG, flux core, sub-arc, or stick welding (must demonstrate proficiency in three or more methods).
  • Execute position welds on code-compliant materials.
  • Conduct quality assurance through x-ray and ultrasound testing of welds, ensuring minimal rework.
  • Operate flame and plasma cutting torches, as well as automated welding equipment, with minimal oversight.
  • Promote a culture of safety, productivity, and a positive work environment.

Work Environment: This position requires limited use of computers and office equipment, such as copiers and telephones. Frequent operation of heavy machinery, including welding tools and occasional forklift use, is necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of welding school is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of various pipe types, structural materials, and vessel components.
  • Certification in pipe or plate welding is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements: The role involves frequent equipment inspections, climbing stairs or ladders, and maintaining balance without assistance. Effective communication with coworkers and responsiveness to emergency signals is essential.

Working Conditions: Candidates must be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in facilities without air conditioning. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.
