Job Description
The Goddard School of Chesterfield, VA is seeking a dedicated and caring Assistant Teacher to support our Lead Teacher in creating engaging programs and managing the classroom. As a key member of our team, you will help ensure a safe, stimulating environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and supporting children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Prepare classroom materials and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Supervise and provide individualized support to children, as well as communicate with parents about their child's progress and activities.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and support routine childcare tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma is required, with an associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare, preschool setting, or elementary school.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children.
