Housekeeping Job Description

The Akron Area YMCA is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping professional to join our team. As a Housekeeping team member, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, ensuring a positive experience for our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and other high-touch areas
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, and mopping
  • Remove trash and recyclables, and maintain a clean and organized storage area
  • Communicate with staff and management to ensure effective cleaning and maintenance
  • Develop and maintain a positive and respectful attitude, and maintain a clean and professional appearance
Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and members
  • Ability to physically perform the scope of the job
  • Basic computer literacy
Performance Objectives:
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Contribute to the creation of a Properties Department that achieves the goals and objectives of the YMCA
  • Complete all assigned tasks and duties
