About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Central Zone team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for underwriting commercial accounts, developing new business opportunities, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite commercial accounts, including GL, Auto, Property, workers compensation, and foreign package
  • Develop marketable rates and coverages based on account needs and market conditions
  • Work with agents to develop new business opportunities
  • Supervise Underwriting Associates in the preparation and checking of underwriting documents
  • Liaise with brokers, clients, and carriers as needed
  • Participate in the definition of business strategies and budget forecasts
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience underwriting at a Property and Casualty carrier
  • Sound knowledge of insurance, including all lines of business underwritten
  • Knowledge of the insurance market at national and international levels
  • Availability to travel
  • Self-motivated, self-confident, and able to work as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office
