This role is primarily focused on the assembly of products, associated systems, and the basic operation of laser equipment utilized in the manufacturing of goods provided to our clients.

The individual in this position is expected to collaborate with and assist in the training of junior operators to effectively meet or exceed product quality and production targets.

Additionally, it is anticipated that this role will continue to enhance skills in conjunction with Technicians while taking direction from the Engineering teams.

Proficiency in setting up and operating workstations, as well as conducting visual and dimensional inspections necessary for manufacturing products at Top Tool Company, is essential.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) to ensure products are consistently produced and controlled in accordance with the Quality System.

Responsible for following established documentation for product manufacturing.
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, machinery, tools, and equipment.
Receive direction within the manufacturing cell from Team Lead/Supervisor.
Demonstrate proficiency in loading components into product-specific tools.
Primary duties include processing and product fabrication.

Conduct in-process visual inspections with and without the use of microscopes in accordance with the requirements stated in the Process Control Document or as specified in drawings or work instructions.

Operate a variety of wafer fabrication equipment in a production setting.
Regularly manipulate delicate wafers (site dependent).
Work with small devices to load fixtures and processing equipment.
Perform basic measurements and mathematical calculations related to tolerances and dimensions.
As directed, adjust machines to achieve compliance with specifications and maximize yield.
Execute pre/post-weld operations such as assembly and part cleaning.
Set up workstations for qualified operations.
Carry out complex workstation setups and troubleshooting tasks.
Perform various dimensional inspections using specific gauges, dimensional inspection systems, verniers, and micrometers.
Provide training on processes to team members.

Possess standard skills in operating manufacturing workstations, including most laser systems used in the production of goods.

Proficient in operating computerized motion controllers.
Knowledge of welding operations is advantageous.
Ability to fulfill workstation setup requirements for any processing job using existing tooling and established parameters.
Working knowledge of drawings, with the ability to interpret nomenclature and dimensions.
Offer guidance within the manufacturing cell to associates assigned to assist.
Support Quality Control with inspection duties as needed.
Capable of accurately following operating manuals, maintenance instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, and work instructions.

Operate effectively and maintain professionalism in a deadline-driven environment with high workloads, adjusting schedules or work hours to accommodate changes in priorities.

Perform additional duties as directed by the Production Team Leader/Supervisor.
Responsible for identifying quality issues and communicating them to Quality and/or Production Supervision.
Act as a resource during audits or customer visits for inquiries and practical demonstrations.
When assisting upper-level Technicians or Engineers, accurately document development activities in a lab notebook.
Provide input to Engineering and upper-level Technicians regarding tool design and/or troubleshooting processes.
Assist in ensuring the accuracy of Process Control Documents, Parameter Sheets, Work Instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Reliable, consistent, and punctual attendance is a fundamental aspect of the job.
Comply with company, quality, and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
3+ years of experience in the medical device industry and manufacturing.
Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.

Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Strong attention to detail.
Understanding of ISO & FDA requirements is a plus.
Experience with LEAN manufacturing is beneficial.
Ability to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, and noise.

Capable of providing detailed information to assist sustaining engineering in determining root causes to identify appropriate corrective actions.

Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in setting up and operating workstations.
Moderate computer skills, including the MS Office suite.
Must be able to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and illustrations.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to obtain secondary research information from the Internet or alternative sources.
Ability to learn and apply new technology.
Technical report preparation.
Strong understanding of performing visual and dimensional inspections.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
