Job Summary

The Gas Foreman is a key role within MasTec's Utility Services Group, responsible for leading a crew in the installation and repair of natural gas pipelines and joint trench utilities. This position requires strong leadership and technical skills, with a focus on ensuring safe and efficient work practices.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate crew work to install natural gas pipelines via open-cut or directional drill methods.
  • Obtain all necessary licenses, permits, and materials for each job.
  • Ensure all work quality meets company standards and is completed on time.
  • Coordinate daily tasks with crew members, including digging and placing product.
  • Gain entry to site buildings and call in utilities located at each project site.
  • Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections to ensure crew safety.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade.
  • Track employee hours and submit for payroll on a timely basis.
  • Inspect existing utilities to ensure proper installation and fusion.
  • Drive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews.
  • Communicate with customers and inspectors.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of gas pipeline construction or maintenance experience.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Class A CDL.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role operates in a field environment, requiring extended periods of physical activity, including bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and standing. The position also involves working in inclement weather conditions.
