Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Laborer to join our Paving Crew. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the construction and maintenance of highways, roads, and other infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare ground surfaces for road construction, removing debris and obstacles as needed.
  • Operate ground compactors, level dirt, and rake surfaces to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Set up fencing, barricades, and safety cones to block off work areas.
  • Prepare manhole covers, openings, and water lines for paving.
  • Assist in the operation of equipment, including pavers, rollers, and backhoes.
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Perform other laborer tasks as needed, including cutting concrete or asphalt with a saw.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction or a related field is a plus.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondences and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, with occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.
