Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for executing processes that involve both mechanical and electrical assembly tasks. Utilizing hand tools and pneumatic equipment, you will manufacture products according to detailed customer specifications and drawings.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, follow production routers, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Operate hand tools and pneumatic equipment, including screwdrivers, utility knives, screw guns, and drills, to complete assemblies.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of components prior to assembly using basic measuring instruments.
  • Adhere to all quality standards, specifications, regulations, and operational instructions.
  • Handle insulation materials and utilize chemicals, adhesives, paints, and inks as required.
  • Possess the capability to operate a sit-down forklift.
  • Maintain accurate computer records and documentation in line with production needs.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, following established safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the English language for effective communication, both orally and in writing.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

While the following tasks are necessary for departmental operations, they are not central to this position and may be performed by other team members:

  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Occasional sitting up to 2.5 hours per day.
  • Continuous standing up to 10 hours per day.
  • Frequent walking up to 7 hours per day.
  • Frequent bending/stooping up to 7 hours per day.
  • Occasional reaching above shoulder level up to 2.5 hours per day.
  • Occasional driving and use of foot controls up to 2.5 hours per day.
  • Frequent pushing/pulling up to 7 hours per day.
  • Occasional fine manipulation up to 2.5 hours per day.
  • Frequent gripping for tool use and parts handling up to 7 hours per day.
  • Continuous balancing while working around equipment up to 10 hours per day.
  • Lift/carry parts weighing from 0 to 10 lbs. continuously up to 10 hours per day.
  • Lift/carry parts weighing from 10 to 20 lbs. occasionally up to 2.5 hours per day.
  • Lift/carry parts weighing from 20 to 50 lbs. occasionally up to 2.5 hours per day.

VISION REQUIREMENTS:

Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to perform essential duties effectively.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant factory experience.
