Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality RN Coordinator to coordinate, implement, and participate in the evaluation of ongoing, functionally integrated, and systemic hospital-wide performance improvement activities. The successful candidate will work closely with Leadership on quality and regulatory initiatives, including process improvement, publicly reported metrics, nursing-sensitive indicators, investigating events, RCA, accrediting, and tracer activities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians, managers, and staff in developing and updating departmental performance improvement plans based on established organizational performance indicators and strategic intents.
  • Collaborate with individuals and groups within the hospital to establish priorities for measurement and determine appropriate indicators of quality.
  • Ensure reports from departments and PI teams to the designated council and hospital-wide PIC Committee are complete and timely.
  • Facilitate the use of PI tools when developing reports, which may include data displays, analysis, follow-up plans, and outcome analysis.
  • Oversee designated projects involving the use of external referenced databases; assist individuals and departments with analysis of results, develop action plans, and track improvement.
  • Participate in peer-level meetings or work team activities and communicate results or actions to departmental staff.
  • Perform chart audits to gather data for public reporting initiatives, as assigned by Director.
  • Provide direct support to the Leadership Council for all administrative activities associated with the meetings.
  • Provide ongoing updates on the progress of assigned projects.
  • Provide Team Leader and Team Member Training as delegated.
  • Serve as a mentor and facilitator by teaching the principles and applications of performance improvement to all levels of staff and manager.
  • Serve as a role model in resolving interpersonal conflicts, demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Work closely with the Director to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, as well as reporting requirements.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a registered nurse in the adult population.
  • History of quality improvement, quality management, or standards.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills necessary: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Three to six months of training.
  • Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • CPHQ/CPPS.
  • Skill in Team Facilitation, RCA, and FMEA.
  • Comfortable with EPIC.
Certifications and Licenses Required
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
Scheduling Requirements
  • Full-Time.
  • Day shift.
  • Monday to Friday.
  • No weekends.
  • No holidays.
  • 37.5 hours weekly.
