Job Summary:

The University of Central Oklahoma's College of Business is seeking qualified candidates for adjunct positions to teach various accounting courses. As an adjunct faculty member, you will provide a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis, reporting to a dean or chair and performing instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach introduction to principles of accounting, cost, individual taxation, business entity taxation, auditing, ethics, financial accounting, and other related accounting courses.
  • Develop and implement course materials, assessments, and evaluations to ensure student learning outcomes.
  • Provide academic advising and support to students, including guidance on course selection and career development.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum and program initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Accounting or MBA with a CPA and current senior-level or higher accounting experience.
  • Doctorate in Accounting or JD with professional tax practice may be considered for tax positions.
  • Teaching experience preferred, with online teaching experience a plus.
  • Specialized certifications and licenses may be required for certain classes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting with an emphasis in Taxation.
  • Professional certification preferred.
  • Current professional experience or current academic research in accounting/taxation.
