Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to deliver routine daily nursing assistance and services to each assigned resident, in alignment with their individual assessment and care plan, while adhering to directives from supervisory staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties:
- Utilize identification methods such as wristbands or photo card files to confirm resident identities prior to administering treatments or serving meals.
- Document all activities on flow sheets, notes, and charts in a clear and detailed manner.
- Employ only approved abbreviations as per facility guidelines when recording information.
- Promptly inform the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any changes in a resident's condition.
- Report any accidents or incidents observed during the shift as they occur.
- Execute all assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as instructions from supervisors.
- Adhere to work assignments and schedules to complete designated tasks.
- Collaborate with inter-departmental and facility personnel to ensure nursing services meet resident needs effectively.
- Foster an environment of warmth, personal interest, and positivity, while maintaining a calm atmosphere throughout the unit and shift.
- Regularly meet with nursing staff to identify and address problem areas and enhance service quality.
- Document and report any complaints or grievances expressed by residents.
- Notify the facility of any tardiness or absences from work.
- Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, or hazardous chemicals to a supervisor.
Must possess a valid Certified Nursing Assistant license in accordance with state regulations in New Jersey.
