We are a cutting-edge protein design and engineering laboratory that combines innovative technologies in computational protein design with rigorous experimental validation. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of custom proteins using AI, with applications in antivirals, vaccines, and gene delivery devices.
The Strauch lab is a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment that interfaces with various groups in virology and immunology on and beyond the Washington University in St. Louis campus. We have state-of-the-art computing and laboratory equipment, including cell sorters, biolayers, FPLC systems, light scattering instruments, tissue culture facilities, and excellent cores for next-generation sequencing and cryoEM.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated computational biologist, structural biologist, biochemist, or chemist with expertise in designing protein structures to tackle challenging problems, primarily focusing on vaccine design. Experience with Python programming is required.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field (computational biology, structural biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or biological engineering)
- Strong background in protein design and engineering
- Experience with Python programming
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
