We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipe Installation Specialist to join our team at Jr. Davis Construction Company, Inc. Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects, including assisting with pipe installation, aligning and positioning pipes, and guiding equipment operators in trench operation.
- Load, unload, or distribute materials, machinery, or tools to and from designated locations, and maintain a clean work area by disposing of trash and debris properly.
- Operate a variety of power and hand tools, including air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, mechanical hoists, surveying, measuring, and other equipment, and perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Verify installation using lasers and/or levels and grade rods, and signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
- May be called upon to operate a variety of power and hand tools, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 2 years recent experience working as a Tailman (pipe installation) or equivalent experience required.
- Active Driver's license required.
Regularly works in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and humidity. Frequently works near heavy equipment and moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration.
Work may involve exposure to a variety of substances found on construction sites, such as oil, grease, gasoline, concrete, and diesel fuel. Periodically exposed to fumes, lubricants, airborne particles, and dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
