Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Interventional Radiology team at Rhode Island Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing procedures in Diagnostic Imaging, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the process.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and monitor patient condition, prioritizing their needs and providing direct care as needed.
  • Administer conscious sedation and monitor patients during procedures, adhering to hospital and departmental standards.
  • Provide continuity of care for critically ill patients, collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient status and nursing interventions, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Communicate effectively with radiology nurses, physicians, technologists, and other caregivers to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management programs, contributing to the development and evaluation of policies and procedures in radiology.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or licensure in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement.
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, with a minimum of one year of ICU-level critical care experience or two years of ER nursing experience with at least one year of trauma room experience.
  • ACLS & BLS certification, with demonstrated mature judgment, initiative, and proficiency in nursing skills.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Some exposure to radiation, with hazards minimized by adherence to established safety precautions. Lifting, pulling, and positioning patients, wearing an eight-to-ten-pound lead apron. Spends majority of time walking or standing.
