- Conduct Activities and Interventions: Lead group and individual activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being, adapting to the unique needs and abilities of each patient.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
- Assess and Document Patient Progress: Regularly evaluate patient outcomes, documenting successes and areas for improvement to inform treatment adjustments.
- Provide Education and Training: Educate patients, families, and staff on therapeutic recreation techniques, promoting a culture of empowerment and self-advocacy.
- Manage and Maintain Equipment: Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Education and Certification: Possess a degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field and be certified as a CTRS by the NCTRC.
- Experience: Prefer one year of experience in a rehabilitation setting, but not required.
