Job Description

At Ford Motor Company, we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Embedded Controls Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our body systems team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing control algorithms for various body control features, including window control, closure systems, and lighting.

Responsibilities:

  • Create control/estimation algorithms for body control features
  • Lead the design and integration of body controls hardware components
  • Collaborate with software integration teams to bring up core functions
  • Understand functional safety principles and participate in functional safety analyses
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and perform thorough testing
  • Spearhead body controls feature development and author subsystem block diagrams

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical hardware applications, prototype bring-up, and systems development
  • 3+ years of experience with vehicle network protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet
  • Strong EE fundamentals and hands-on experience with electrical test equipment
  • Experience with creating and executing component-level test procedures

Preferred Requirements:

  • Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
  • Experience in driver development and RTOS integration
  • Experience with software build tools such as Bazel, Scons, and Cmake
  • Ability to write testing scripts using scripting languages such as Python
