Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Nursing Manager to lead our patient care units and services. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the 24-hour management of a specific patient care unit/s, service/s, or program/s in settings designated by the Chief Nursing Officer and/or Director, Patient Care Services.
Key Responsibilities
* Develops, implements, and interprets policies for the assigned unit/service/program
* Schedules and supervises assigned employees and ensures the quality of care provided to patients and families
* Responsible for unit-based budgetary management and human resource management
Accountabilities
* Coordinates the delivery of patient care for assigned units/services and ensures the quality of patient care provided
* Develops, analyzes, monitors, and revises staffing patterns for units and ensures that sufficient and properly prepared personnel are available to meet patient needs
* Performs a variety of human resource management activities, including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, counseling, coaching, performance planning, competency assessment, and terminating assigned staff
* Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to plan, develop, and monitor the annual capital, operational, and personnel budgets of assigned units and services
* Coaches, directs, supports, and evaluates the educational and research activities for assigned staff
* Develops quality indicators specific to the units' patient population and monitors quality of care using established benchmarks
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing
* 3 years of RN experience, including 2 years in an appropriate area of nursing
* Current South Carolina R.N. License
* Certified in nursing specialty (preferred)
* Previous nursing management/supervisory experience (preferred)
