Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Nurse to join our team at UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the CVICU, including those requiring advanced life support and cardiovascular interventions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, laboratory results, and other relevant data to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and perform various medical procedures as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety in the CVICU.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in a CVICU or similar critical care setting.
  • Current certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • NIH Stroke Certification required for certain units.
  • CCRN preferred, but not required.
  • ECMO experience a plus.
