Psychiatrist

California State University is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our team. As a Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for evaluating and diagnosing students presenting mental health problems, prescribing medication as needed, and providing counseling services.

• Evaluate and diagnose students presenting mental health problems
• Prescribe medication as needed and follow up on treatment
• Counsel students on related medical/personal problems and health measures
• Refer to other professionals for treatment when appropriate
• Provide crisis psychiatric evaluations and serve as a psychiatric supervisor to department psychiatric residents

• Graduation from a medical school recognized by the Medical Board of California
• Completion of at least one residency program in psychiatry or a related specialty
• Prior/current affiliation with a hospital or outpatient clinic is preferred
• CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS A VALID LICENSE TO PRACTICE MEDICINE IN CALIFORNIA
• CURRENT AMERICAN BOARD OF MEDICAL SPECIALITIES (ABMS) CERTIFICATION IN THE SPECIALTY OF PSYCHIATRY (OR WITHIN 24 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT)
• DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENT (DEA) CERTIFICATE AND NUMBER FOR PRESCRIBING PHYSICIANS

• The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $6866 - $10,500 (PTE) per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience
