Department Information
The Department of Cultural and Behavioral Sciences encompasses various academic disciplines, including psychology, sociology, anthropology, geography, education, social work, criminal justice, and homeland security. Our academic offerings promote critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and effective communication skills, enabling students to engage with our diverse and evolving world.
Position Description

Perimeter College is in search of part-time instructors in PSYCHOLOGY who will be instrumental in guiding and supporting students in their educational journey.


Qualifications
Required Experience: Teaching experience is essential.

Required Education: Applicants must possess a minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in college-level teaching is advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Capability to teach PSYCHOLOGY courses at the collegiate level.
  • Proficiency in employing diverse teaching methodologies.
  • Aptitude for engaging with a diverse student body and facilitating effective learning.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with instructional technology.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
A Criminal History Check is mandatory.

Work Hours:
Classes may be scheduled in the morning, afternoon, and evening, including weekends.

Compensation:
$2,100.00 for each 3 Semester Credit Hour course taught.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Instruct 1 to 2 classes in Introductory Psychology per term, as required.
  • Develop syllabi, assignments, tests, and class activities.
  • Engage with students outside of class through various communication methods.
  • Utilize an online learning management system for course materials and student information.
  • Maintain timely record-keeping, including attendance and grading.
  • Coordinate with department leadership regarding teaching schedules and student matters.
